Afer an amazingly cosy Christmas Special, The Book Club members voted for Mother Mary Comes To Me by Arundhati Roy for our January choice.
Created by Nadia, female founder of Ambika Social and in collaboration with fellow female authors.... This months chosen book is described as:
Arundhati Roy’s first memoir is a soaring, intimate, and inspiring account of her journey to becoming the person and writer she is today. Shaped by circumstance, but above all by her extraordinary and singular mother, Mary, whom she describes as her “shelter and my storm”, Roy’s life took a dramatic turn when she ran away from her mother at the age of eighteen. Distraught and even a little ashamed of her response to the death of her Mother, Roy began to write Mother Mary Comes to Me.
